Field Trip to Lawrence County

8:30 am meet at the Library Center if you want to carpool
   
9:15 arrive at the Lawrence County Courthouse for research in Fred G. Mieswinkel Research Room
 
11:30 lunch – location to be decided
 
12:30 after lunch, more research at the Library and tour of Historical Society
           
 4:30 return to the Library Center

Kathy Fairchild and Jami Lewis will be meeting us at the various locations as well as sharing information about Lawrence County.
 
The Courthouse address is 1 Courthouse Square. Coming in from Springfield, you will take Exit 46, turning right onto business loop, then right at the first stoplight. That is Hickory Street, and it will take you to the courthouse square. When you arrive at the courthouse, there is ample parking. You will enter from the north side (elevators). You will see Kathy’s grey Explorer on the north side where you park and enter.
 
Food Options are Mt. Vernon Family Restaurant, Red Barn, Keen Been Coffee Roasters, Subway, McDonald’s, a Mexican restaurant El Azteca and pizza place, all on the business loop. There is an Oriental restaurant near the square.
