Patti Hobbs

This presentation by Patti Hobbs, Certified Genealogist®, has two halves. The first disproves reliance on DAR applications for the Revolutionary War service of John Bell (d. 1831, Jefferson County, Kentucky) that actually belonged to a different man. The second half is constructive: tracing the correct John Bell's origins in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and his documented path through Virginia's King and Queen, King William, and Albemarle counties, to identify a previously overlooked 1781 Public Service Claim that offers a valid new basis for DAR proof of patriotic service.
